Building a Better Tomorrow for the Home of the African Child
Sole for African Child sustainably promotes the advocacy for children’s right to education in Africa’s marginalized groups. We set the stage for African children to fight for a better tomorrow.
The right of the child to education, regardless of social or environmental factors, is indispensable to the development of both the child and the society. The growing increase in child orphans and children living with disabilities due to the many social ills – disease and political conflicts, and the growing youth population and unemployment – has exacerbated the violent and inhuman conditions of existence for many children growing up in African households. At the home of the African child, a pair of shoes not only reduces absenteeism and improves academic performance of a child but also prevents the spread of infectious diseases in the community. School going children are provided with shoes, get food, and they learn in well-equipped classrooms.
